Terms & Conditions

Rental Agreement & Rental Period

A written Rental Agreement is provided for every booking, specifying the vehicle, authorised drivers, rental dates, collection and return locations, charges and insurance arrangements.
The rental period begins and ends at the date, time and location stated in the Rental Agreement. The campervan must be returned by the agreed date and time unless an extension has been approved in advance.

Authorized Drivers

Only the hirer and additional drivers specifically approved and listed in the Rental Agreement may drive the campervan. The campervan must not be lent, sublet or given to an unauthorised driver.
The hirer is responsible for ensuring all authorised drivers comply with these Terms & Conditions.

Payments

Accepted Payment Methods

We accept Visa, Mastercard and other major credit and debit cards. All payments are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store card details.

Currency

All prices are displayed and charged in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). GST is included where applicable.

Driver Requirements

All drivers must meet the following requirements before taking possession of a campervan.

1

All drivers must hold a current, valid full driver's licence. International visitors must hold a licence that is current in their country of issue. If the licence is not in English, an official translation or International Driving Permit (IDP) is required.

2

The minimum age for all drivers is stated at the time of booking. A young driver surcharge may apply depending on your selected age band.

Speeding & Off-roading

New Zealand roads require care and attention. Please read these rules carefully.

Off-road Restrictions

Our campervans are not designed or insured for off-road use. Driving on unsealed, gravel or 4WD-only roads may void your insurance cover. If in doubt, contact us before proceeding.

Speed Limits

The open road speed limit in New Zealand is 100 km/h. Urban speed limits are typically 50 km/h unless otherwise signed. All speed camera and infringement notices received during the rental period are the sole responsibility of the hirer.

Sustainability

We ask all hirers to travel responsibly and help protect New Zealand's natural environment.

Leave No Trace

Take all rubbish with you. Never leave litter at freedom camping spots, beaches, trails or roadsides. Use designated waste disposal facilities wherever possible.

Water & Waterways

Do not wash the campervan, dishes or clothing in streams, rivers, lakes or near waterways. Use campground facilities. Never discharge grey water near natural water sources.

Waste Disposal

Use the campervan's certified cassette toilet. Empty cassette waste only at designated dump stations — never in streams, rivers, public toilets or on the ground.

Fire Safety

Open fires may be prohibited depending on the region and season. Always check local fire restrictions. Never leave a fire unattended and always extinguish fully before leaving.

Respect Nature

Stay on marked tracks. Do not disturb wildlife, remove plants or damage natural features. New Zealand's native flora and fauna are protected under the Conservation Act.

Freedom Camping Rules

Freedom camping is only permitted in areas where it is allowed by the relevant local council or Department of Conservation. Always check the Freedom Camping Act and local bylaws before stopping overnight.

Advance Booking Bond & Return Policy

1

Booking Confirmation

Your booking is confirmed upon receipt of the required advance booking bond. The bond amount and applicable cancellation terms will be clearly stated in your booking confirmation.

2

Security Bond

A security bond is held at the start of the rental period. The amount depends on your chosen insurance cover — NZ$3,000 (Freedom), NZ$1,500 (Traveller) or NZ$0 (Complete Cover). The bond is released upon satisfactory return of the vehicle.

3

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation fees, refunds and applicable deadlines are stated in your booking confirmation. All cancellation terms comply with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and applicable New Zealand consumer law.

4

Vehicle Return

The campervan must be returned at the agreed date, time and location in the same condition as collected, with the same fuel level. Late returns without prior approval may incur additional daily charges.

5

Bond Release

The security bond is released after the vehicle has been inspected and confirmed returned in satisfactory condition. Any deductions for damage, fuel, cleaning or other applicable charges will be explained to you at the time of return.
